How do I create an account?

Go to whyoke.com, press Sign up and enter a username, email, password (at least 8 characters), date of birth and country. A phone number is optional.

Why emails you a 6-digit code. Enter it within 15 minutes to finish. Your account is only created once the code is correct.

Can't find the email? Check your spam or promotions folder, or press "Send a new code" after a minute.

Why does Why ask for my date of birth and country?

To know whether you are of legal age in your country. Private messages, video calls and Chat with someone are for adults only. Minors can only befriend other minors.

Your date of birth is visible only to you by default.

How do I enter my phone number?

Just type your local number. The calling code of the country you chose is added for you.

Where do I change my profile picture, cover and background?

On your profile: press the camera on your profile picture, or "Change cover photo" / "Change background" on the cover. You can also change or remove them in Settings → Photos.

GPS location and camera details are removed from photos when you upload them.

What's the difference between following and friends?

Follow: you see that person's public posts in your feed. They don't need to agree.

Friends: both of you agree. Only friends can message privately, video call and see friends-only posts.
